When to use it

You need a short notice, announcement or awareness message in a regional language so that more people understand it. AI tools are often much weaker in these languages than in Urdu or English. Treat the result as a rough draft that a fluent speaker must check before anyone sees it.

The prompt

Translate the public message below into [Punjabi / Sindhi / Pashto / Balochi / Saraiki / other language] for ordinary readers in [district or area].

Script to use: [for example Shahmukhi, Sindhi script, Pashto script or Roman letters]
Message:
[Paste the message in English or Urdu. Keep it short]

Write:
1. The translation, in simple everyday language for the area named above
2. A word-for-word back-translation into [English / Urdu] so I can check the meaning
3. A list of any words or phrases you were unsure about, marked [UNCLEAR], with the reason

Keep every date, time, place, amount and phone number exactly as in the original. Do not add any information. If a term has no common equivalent, keep the original word and mark it [CHECK]. Tell me plainly if your knowledge of this language or dialect is limited.

How to fill it in

  • Name the area. Many regional languages differ from district to district. Readers notice.
  • Say which script you need. The same language can be written in more than one script.
  • Shorten and simplify the original message first. Short, plain sentences translate better.

Before you use the result

  • Have a fluent speaker from the area check the full translation before use. Do not publish it on the strength of the back-translation alone.
  • Check every date, place, amount and number against the original.
  • Keep a record of who checked the translation and when.
